My favorite place for Chilli. The cheese bread is fire. Prices are fair and atmosphere is different in a good way.

OH MY GOODNESS!!! I popped into The Soup Kitchen on a whim this evening - I was in the mood for soup since it's fall and it felt right for a Friday night - and I am SO happy I did. The crab chowder was INCREDIBLE and the roll (I got white bread) was absolutely delicious. Like so good I could probably eat 6 in a sitting. And to top it off, some of the BEST Coconut Cream Pie I have ever had. I will absolutely be coming back to try more!

Everything I’ve had is great, but you have to come on Wednesdays and try the soft shell crab soup. It’s like I just ordered a fresh crab dish off the boardwalk, it tastes so good.

This location is in Oak Ridge TN. We have eaten at both locations Oak Ridge and Knoxville and both have very good soups and sandwiches.

Our visit to the Soup Kitchen was the first time in years. We made the deliberate side trip visit as a remembrance of the time we lived in Oak Ridge about 25 years ago. The place was just as quaint as always and the food is still the best soup and sides around. The variety of soups and bread can’t be matched. Generous portions are the mainstay with delicious choices. If you are in the area make the trip to the Soup Kitchen. Brunswick Stew!!

Django wholeheartedly approved. The rotating list of soups always includes at least one vegetarian and gluten free soup, and they are all delicious. Today I had bean & bacon soup, which paired wonderfully with their brown bread ($1.85), also served warm. Reminds me of the bread my mom would make from scratch when I was little. This is definitely a staple for lunches.

Amazing. After 8 years of working in Oak Ridge I finally decided to try The Soup Kitchen and all I can say is wow. I got in just before the lunch rush and got the tomato soup and 3 cheese grilled sandwich. Firstly, that tomato soup is more of a stew it is so thick and simply amazing but that grilled cheese was next level, even plain. I will certainly not wait 8 years to return.

Great neighborhood spot. Lots of soups to choose from, and very friendly staff. Feels like it's been there forever, and I think it has been. Chili was tasty, as was the key lime pie.

The lady was very helpful when navigating took us to the wrong spot (imagine that 🤣) our first time here! The chicken and dumplings is the best southern style chicken and dumplings I have ever had!! The chili is good! The white bread that is made fresh is amazing! The Mexican style cornbread is good, a tad dry for me but not everyone likes the way I like mine either so it’s just my opinion! Overall the service was great and the food we had was great as well! Thank you to the staff, well done!
